The school had recognition assembly last night, and it's Proud Daddy time.
Both kids were recognized for all A's this year, citizenship, outstanding achievement in one class or another, that kinda stuff.
Lindsay got Outstanding Classroom Achievement - Spanish, which is an award that each teacher gives to the better students in their classes. And she was also recognized for receiveing a 4th place award in a literature contest for a poem that she wrote.
Justin was recognized for Outstanding Achievement - World History. The difference between this and the "Classroom" one that Lindsay got is that several of the "classroom" awards are given, but this it for the top of the class for the teacher.
But the big thing was that both kids were also recognized for having straight A's all three years of jr high school. And they were the only two in the whole 9th grade to do so!
Also, Justin was one of ten (I think) boys nominated for Mr. Ed Irons, the big award with their name on the huge plaque that hangs in the hall outside the office. Ten boys and ten girls were nominated by the faculty for "living up to the ideals of Irons Jr. High" or somesuch. He didn't win, but still "an honor just to be nominated".
I am so proud of them!!

Saw this over there. That is so great NB. Let's just hope the good stuff continues into HS. That's where mine went downhill. HS - gives me the shivers to think about it.
Does the Mr. Ed trophy talk in a deep voice? "I am Mr. Ed"
Those are great accomplishments and worthy of brand new cars at the age of 16 !
